A Trip To Mom's House

The other day when JV was off playing paintball, I decided it was time to make a trip to see my wonderful mother. It's only about a 20 minute drive, but I don't make it out there as much as I would like to.

It was a beautiful day so I didn't mind the drive, I rolled down the windows in the car and cranked up the radio.

I'm sure I'm a bit bias but there is nothing more beautiful than North Carolina (especially out in the country) -- with the occasional incredible / creepy old farm houses thrown in there.

I only moved away from my mom's house about 6 months ago but it feels like it's an entirely new world when I come back to visit. After looking like a tourist and taking pictures the entire drive..I finally pulled into a very familiar driveway and that feeling of home rushed through me.

You always take home for granite while your there but you truly get a sense of how great it is once your gone and come back.

UPDATE

Hi Guys!

Sorry I have not updated my blog in the past few weeks. I have been in a battle with Photobucket regarding the bandwidth usage on my pictures (apparently they said an adult website hacked into my album and was taking some of my pictures! - how embarrassing) Hopefully though with the help of the kind Photobucket crew, we should be good to go now.

I will upload a new post soon..so keep an eye out ;)

A Must Have For Your Man

JV has really been wanting some roll down Chuck Taylors in white. So the other night we ventured over to the mall and checked out every single shoe store they had -- and of course no white roll down Chucks.

BUT then we stumbled upon these new bad boys and both of us fell in shoe love.

They are such the perfect summer shoe for guys & we bought them for roughly under $50. Very simple, yet edgy. - They defiantly are a must have! (I almost want a pair for myself).

Hello New Kate Spade

I've been looking for a new bright summer bag and yesterday this one just happened to fall into my lap. Its a large fun Kate Spade Tote and I think it is going to fit in perfectly with my purse family. <3

Lulus.com

If you haven't had the chance to check out LuLus yet - you need to jump on that train! They have absolutely the cutest fashion for such affordable prices! I picked up on this website after seeing Kourtney Kardashian in these LuLus' Costa Blance Chevron Shorts (picture below).

Of course I had to jump straight on the website. Every single item I saw, I wanted. Nothing I love more than amazing fashion for even more amazing prices. :)

Posh Flats

The other day my best friend - CaseyJade -  and myself went and did a little shopping. We both have a real problem when it comes to shopping, especially when you put the two of us together (sometimes we just do not know when to stop). Normally we just sit and gaulk about all the wonderful things we would like to buy, BUT today we decided to give in to a little retail therapy. I was going along minding my own business in the store when ..THESE babys hit me in the face!....

The most amazing -throw on with anything- raspberry flats for only $10 !! (THATS RIGHT - I said $10 (ten) dollars!!!) If thats not a deal for these fairytale flats, then I dont know what is. I am in shoe love. <3

What I'm Wearing?
I paired my flats with all black today and a perfect simple accented with  my gold Michael Khors watch.

This just goes to show that you dont have to spend outrageous amounts of money to be stylish, with the right touches ANYTHING can look good!

I Live For Weekends

FRIDAY

As 5o'clock hit on Friday afternoon I was already grabbing my bags and rushing out the office door. I was so eager to rush home to my awaiting boyfriend (who I felt like I had not seen in months, but it had only been about 8 hours) and to figure out what our weekend had in store for us.

Of course our first order of business is always food and we quickly decided on seafood. We threw on our shoes and headed out the door to one of my favorites Jimmy's Seafood & Oyster Bar .

We started our meal with a savory plate of fried calamari

I paired mine with a peach mango cosmo to really start my Friday night off with a bang (so delicious!)

We quickly devoured our appetizer and moved right into main courses..

JV had the beautiful crab stuffed shrimp with a loaded baked potato

And I proceeded on with my fat, fried friends from the sea - popcorn shrimp & fried oysters (life isn't fun without being bad every week once in a while).

After gorging ourselves on all the little sea creatures our hearts desired, we thanked the staff and headed out to meet some friends for drinks downtown.

We posted up in the window seats at Burke Street Pizza and watched all the people walk by until we decided to join in the fun.

SATURDAY

After going to bed and 4 a.m.  and waking up at 8 a.m. to go to my weekly exercise class at the Airbound Trampoline Park (only for it to be canceled- bummer!) I was ready to have a nice quiet Saturday with my sweet handsome boyfriend. I took quite a long nap and laid around being lazy until we were ready for dinner. We decided on Mexican, hopped in the car and rushed off to stuff ourselves with chips, salsa, quesadillas, tacos and fried ice cream.

It was a perfect Mexican Fiesta for ten two.  :)

SUNDAY

Sunday is my favorite day of the week (besides the fact that Monday is to come next). They are easy and relaxing with just enough class and spiritualism. JV John Virgil (I like to try and use his real name, its too pretty not to) is an avid paintball player (whom use to be Pro, until it just got a little too consuming for him) so many of our Sundays are spent at the paintball field in Greensboro, NC. I grew up around the sport being around my older brother and his friends, so it is actually a past-time that I really enjoy (not to mention getting to see my hottie-hot-hot boyfriend run around and dominate people! mwahaha).

After an extremely hot afternoon we made our way back to Winston-Salem to join some friends for dinner. I went with the hippie look after purchasing this awesome new teal headband. We stuffed ourselves full to the max and went home to enjoy the rest of our evening in front of the tube to watch one of our favorites - The Hunger Games.

Working Lady

This morning when I woke up I just knew it was going to be a grand day. The sun was beaming threw my tightly closed curtains (which hasn't seemed to be the case in the past month here in North Carolina) and I was actually excited to start my day.

I decided this day was going to be a simple casual/dressy day, and I proceeded to my closet...

After a few quick grabs of some of my comfy favorites..my easy Tuesday outfit came together..

TOP - simple beige tee from Forever21

SKIRT - classic cotton black skirt from Banana Republic

SHOES - University Red Rope Classics from TOMS (always nice when you can buy a pair / give a pair)

NECKLACE - Stole from my mother (HI MOM!)

EARRINGS - Pewter rope style from Banana Republic

As any person working a full-time office job knows (especially Paralegals), eating lunch all together can sometimes be a struggle but eating a healthy lunch is even harder. However, I have been determined to make sure I do just that. Here is a break down of today's lunch...

 photo null.jpg

A organic peanut butter sandwich with slices of banana on ezekiel bread , baked sweet potato and a helping of kettle baked organic potato chips (I know not the healthiest but I just could not resist their salty crunchy goodness).

 photo null-7.jpg

Just the perfect combination to fuel me through the rest of the day (with the more than occasional gaze out the window)...

 photo null-2.jpg

(Downtown Winston-Salem can truly be beautiful when it wants to be)

Tonight we are having our close friends over (I LOVE dinner dates - well food in general really) - If I don't get too caught up in the fun I will post what we whip up for dinner.

Until next time dolls. xox
